Actions
Tentacles - Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a Medium or smaller creature, it is [[g:46|grappled]] (escape DC 13). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the mind flayer can't use its tentacles on another target.
Extract Brain - Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one incapacitated humanoid [[g:46|grappled]] by the mind flayer. Hit: The target takes 55 (10d10) piercing damage. If this damage reduces the target to 0 hit points, the mind flayer kills the target by extracting and devouring its brain.
Mind Blast (Recharge 5–6) - The mind flayer magically emits psychic energy in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw or take 22 (4d8 + 4) psychic damage and be stunned for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Xy'lar Vex is an ancient mind flayer, having witnessed the rise and fall of countless civilizations. It has spent centuries honing its psionic abilities and furthering the grand design of the Illithid empire. It has orchestrated the downfall of kingdoms, the corruption of heroes, and the enslavement of entire populations, all from the shadows. Its current focus is on acquiring a rare artifact rumored to amplify psionic power to unimaginable levels, which it believes will be the key to unlocking the next stage of Illithid evolution.
